CELEBRATING THE BROADER CHURCH THIS SUNDAY
We’re looking forward to welcoming two members of the St. Paul Area Synod Staff to Farmington Lutheran this coming Sunday, March 9th. The Reverend Justin Grimm, Director for Evangelical Mission and Assistant to the Bishop for Congregational Vitality, will be here to preach and available for conversation between services, as well. Kirsten Levorson, Director of Bega Kwa Bega, will also be here to share more information about our synod’s companion relationship with the Iringa Diocese of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Tanzania. Did you know that Farmington Lutheran helps provide scholarships for students in Iringa to attend school? Join Kirsten in the library between services to find out more!

MEET YOUR FLC COUNCIL MEMBERS!
Linda Landwehr

What are your favorite things about Farmington Lutheran?
I love the open and welcoming spirit of our congregation, and the way we welcome anyone to take communion with us.

Tell us about your family/your dear ones.

I’ve been married to Paul for 37 years, and we moved to Farmington and joined FLC shortly after. We raised our two boys in Farmington, and they were both baptized and confirmed at FLC.

What is your dream vacation?
In my younger years, it was an African Safari. But now I am most interested in eating my way through Italy.

Describe your hobbies or how you like to spend free time.
I spend a lot of my time caring for elderly parents and volunteering. And I love to try out new recipes and cook for the people I love. I also like to read and do the New York Times daily puzzles.

What is/was your profession?
I retired from a long career in marketing and communications, but also was a surgical technologist and then a naturalist at the Minnesota Zoo in previous lifetimes.

What is your favorite holiday? Why?
I love the family gatherings that happen for Thanksgiving and Christmas. But those are a lot of work, so I also appreciate a good Groundhog Day where no one expects me to do anything.

IT’S BUTTER BRAID TIME!
Our Farmington Lutheran Youth are selling butter braids as a fundraiser for their summer opportunities!   If you want to support one of our students directly, you can purchase through them.  If not, click here to purchase from our general store.  Our sale will start March 10 and continue through March 31 with delivery on April 14, in time for Easter!

DAYLIGHT SAVINGS TIME
Sunday, March 9

Don’t forget to spring those clocks forward on Sunday!

MN FOODSHARE MARCH CAMPAIGN (Farmington Food Shelf)
March 1 through April 3
Farmington Food shelf is once again participating in the MN Foodshare Campaign. The more dollars and pounds of food we collect during the campaign, the more grant funds we will receive from MN FoodShare, increasing the power of your donation!
Donations may be dropped off on Mondays and Thursdays from 11:00am-5:30pm. The address is 510 Walnut St., south side of the building, door #9.  Monetary gifts are always welcome too and used to purchase food from Second Harvest at a very reduced cost. Checks should be made out to the Farmington Food Shelf if the donor wants the money to go directly to our local Farmington Food Shelf.
This is an important campaign, as the more dollars and pounds of food we collect at our site, the more grant money we will receive from MN-FoodShare, which is sponsored by GMCC (Greater Minneapolis Council of Churches). We saw a 35% increase in visits in 2004 compared to 2023 (and 2023 had a 50% from the previous year!). Thanks for your continued support.
