WHO WE ARE

Farmington Lutheran is a growing, thriving community of Lutheran Christians. You’re welcome to this church, no matter where you are in your faith journey. If you are uncertain about faith, just exploring, or have a strong foundation, you are welcome. We don’t claim to know all the answers, and we certainly aren’t perfect; but we seek to follow the God who loves us and calls us to servanthood.

Our Values

Providing a Meaningful Worship Experience

Worship reminds us “who we are” and “whose we are” as God’s beloved children, and that includes you. FLC worship is rooted in scripture, a blend of traditional and contemporary styles, both in-person and streaming. Sunday mornings see worshipers of all ages, including families and children. Worship is at the center of life at FLC. You’re invited to be part of it.

Fostering connections

In addition to our youth and children’s programs, FLC strives to create a wide variety of intergenerational opportunities for everyone. Whether through music, worship activities, Sunday morning fellowship, discipleship and faith formation, or care ministries in difficult times, we pray guests and members at FLC will feel connected.

Nurturing and developing faith journeys with and for all ages

Multiple opportunities exist for adult Bible study, book clubs, “Brewed Theology,” parent groups, and more. Youth faith formation programs meet weekly on Wednesdays for PreCon and Confirmation. Children’s program offers both Sunday and Wednesday schools, along with milestones and more. Whether you are one-year old or 100 years old, there are groups for you.

Serving and caring for others

FLC is active in Farmington community, and always seeks to deepen our roots and connections. We provide support for the Farmington Food Shelf, assistance for local schools, and host numerous local drives and projects throughout the year.

Worship at FLC

At Farmington Lutheran Church, worship services are a blend of both contemporary and traditional worship. You’re invited and encouraged to "come as you are" in whatever attire you're comfortable in - from shorts and t-shirts to your Sunday best. Please feel at home when you’re here.

Holy Communion (the Lord’s Supper, or Eucharist) is offered on the first and third weekends of the month. Everyone is invited to the Lord’s Table for communion regardless of denomination. If your mobility is limited or impaired, servers will bring communion to you at your seat (just let an usher know!). Children are also invited to join in communion or to receive a blessing. Gluten free bread and apple juice are offered as alternatives to bread and wine.

Families are very welcome at FLC! ! Rather than insist that they be quiet and unseen, each worship services encourages children’s participation in a number of ways. Children and youth of all ages are invited to a children’s message, leave an offering during offering time, grab a little instrument to play along during the sending song, and join in sending out the congregation with a “Go in peace and serve the Lord!” Feel free to bring snacks, toys, books – whatever helps your family to be together during services. We’re glad to be community together, sharing in God’s love!

FLC is a family of families.

Things We Believe In

  • We believe in God the Father, loving Parent, and Creator who loves us. We believe in Jesus, God’s Son, who saved us on the cross.  We believe in the Holy Spirit who brings us new life every day.

  • We believe in the community of believers, uplifting each other, supporting each other, and showing love and hospitality in all places.

  • We believe that God has given people gifts for ministry, and we seek to use those gifts in service, wherever the work of God is found.

  • We believe in grace—God’s unconditional love for us. We believe God loves us, calls us by name, and makes us his own.

Things We Oppose

  • We oppose oppression, injustice, and dehumanizing activity of any kind.

  • We oppose religion that tries to control, direct, and manipulate people.

  • We oppose religion that uses doctrine as a way to separate, divide, and exclude people.

  • We oppose superficial and insincere responses to deep human pain.
