Worship & Hospitality Volunteers

Feeling welcome from the moment you walk through the doors at FLC is essential. From worship hosts,
to hospitality help, all of FLC’s volunteers play an important role in making sure everyone who visits FLC feels at home.

WORSHIP HOST VOLUNTEERS

Age Range: Elementary Age with an Adult, Confirmation Age, High School & Adults

Days/Times: Sunday Mornings, arrive 30 minutes prior to worship starting

Description: It all starts with a smiling face and “we’re glad you’re here!”. Worship hosts welcome worshippers, hand out bulletins, document attendance (slip at usher stand), assist with passing and collecting offering, and answer questions that visitors or worshippers may have.

If this is your first time as a Worship Host, let a staff member know and they’ll be happy to go over any questions you have.

FELLOWSHIP ON SUNDAYS

Age Range: Elementary Age with an Adult, Confirmation Age, High School & Adults

Days/Times: Sunday Mornings, please arrive at 8:00am

Description: If you’ve ever enjoyed the delicious baked goods, hot coffee or lemonade after worship on Sundays, you know how important fellowship on Sundays is. We have friendly volunteers who bake the treats, prep the trays, and some who make the coffee and lemonade each week. If you would like to bake, serve or prep- once a month or once a year- follow the link below to sign up!

ACOLYTES

Age Range: Elementary Age, Confirmation Age

Days/Times: Sunday Mornings, please arrive 15 minutes prior to worship starting

Description: Acolytes play an important role in worship each weekend. And if you’ve never done it before, don’t sweat it! Arrive an extra 10 minutes early and a staff member, pastor, or worship hosts will show you what to do. During some weekends youth will wear a white robe on from the closet located in the Choir room.  Then youth can check in with one of the pastors or another staff member to let them know they’ve arrived, and they will share any additional information you may need.

LIVESTREAM, SCREENS & SOUND

Age Range: High School Age, Adult

Days/Times: Sunday Mornings, please arrive 45 minutes prior to worship starting

Description: Interested in helping in the sound booth during worship? There are a couple different volunteer roles that need filling, and lots of training offered! Screen operators are needed at every worship service- FLC uses PowerPoint presentations for worship, a click of the button and you can run them. Livestreaming utilizes the software program vMix, which allows us to stream to multiple places at once from multiple cameras. Livestreaming and the soundboard work together so if you’re interested in learning more, reach out to Jen Watts at jen@farmingtonlutheran.com and she’ll help get some training scheduled.
