Farmington Lutheran offers children’s programming for ages preschool through 6th grade. Sunday and Wednesday FLCTime is our version of the traditional “Sunday School”. KIC Events are special monthly events held during the school year for 4th, 5th and 6th grade students. PreCon
Age Range: 6th Grade
Days/Times: Wednesdays 4:00 - 5:15pm, meets 5:30 - 6:30pm once a month for Suppers on the Second with parents/guardians
Description: Our unique place in time has afforded us some fun creativity, both in the absence of a Youth Director and in the flexibility that COVID demanded. In years past, Confirmation has spanned 6th-8th grades. But Pastors, Staff, and Children’s Team agreed that the transition from Sunday/Wednesday School to Confirmation was a big shift – in addition to so many big changes happening at the same time in students’ academic and extra-curricular lives. So! We’ve designed a year of Christian faith formation specifically for 6th Graders to recognize, soften, and bridge these transitions.
PreCon meets Wednesdays, consisting of after-school gatherings and lessons, family suppers at FLC, and monthly Kids in Christ (KiC) events. In addition, each month will feature a large-group service or fellowship activity for all youth, including meal packing, Trunk-Or-Treating, a Buck Hill outing, meal serving, and more.
Alleluia Bells
Age Range: 4th through 8th Grade
Days/Times: Wednesday Evenings 5:00 - 5:30pm
4th-8th graders are welcome to join Alleluia Bells, no experience necessary! It’s a unique, fun, musical opportunity! Students will learn the basics of ringing and will prepare musical offerings to ring in worship once a month. If your child is in PreCon, they can still join and will be excused early to attend rehearsals.
Camp Emmaus: January 2025
Age Range: Current 2nd and 3rd Graders
Days/Times: Friday, January 24, 2025 7:00pm - Saturday, January 25, 2024 8:30am
Description: Camp Emmaus is designed to give some of our youngest members a taste of camp life close to home. This camp will happen right at FLC on Friday, January 24th and end early in the morning on Saturday, January 25th. We will have a campfire (it might be cold, so bundle up), s'mores and other snacks, music, games, activities, and devotion time.
KiC456 Events
KiC (Kids in Christ) is designed for youth in grades 4th, 5th grade and 6th. Each month during the school year (September - May) KiC gets together to develop new friendships, learn about God, serve at church, serve the community, and most of all have fun!
Milestone Events
Milestones are faith based events in a child's life and are one way we at FLC help to nurture faith. We are trying to live out the promise made at baptism by raising up the children surrounded by caring youth and adults, modeling faith practices, teaching them how to pray, and to share God's love with others.
We focus on the Four Keys to help nurture faith: Caring Conversations, Devotions, Service, and Rituals/Traditions.
