Future Pastoral Acts of Former Pastors
It has been a true privilege and joy to be in ministry with you as one of your pastors.  FLC has a great future as you continue to live out God’s mission by being the church in this time and place.  In the ELCA and in my own viewpoint there is and needs to be a clear understanding of what a pastor may not do after leaving a call. After leaving a call a pastor may not:

  • Officiate at funerals for persons from the former congregation

  • Officiate at weddings for persons from the former congregation whether in the church or another location

  • Remain a member of the former congregation; the pastor’s spouse and minor age children also need to join a new congregation

  • Interfere in the life, pastoral care or mission of the former congregation.

I am so thankful for our life together and having been called as your senior pastor.  As my call concludes on August 4th I will follow these boundaries so that your mission can move forward.  As you embraced me fully I need to step away so that Pastor Kristen and Pastor Ben and any future pastors can be embraced and carry out their calling without hindrance. I’m very picky and protective when it comes to FLC.  I leave in full confidence of the great ways God’s mission will be carried out through you.  Please know that I would follow the lead of your two incredible pastors anywhere!

An outlier in this time of transition is that I have been invited by the pastors to be a part of two pastoral acts in September.  To officiate a wedding on September 21st and to be at worship at Farmington Lutheran Church on Sunday, September 15th for a Service of Sending.

In thanks for all of you!  Keep letting your light shine!
Pastor Kevin Woestehoff

Farmington Lutheran Church will be hosting VBS and KiC ROCKS July 29 - August 1. The Children and Family Ministry team is looking for help from our amazing congregation to help with the snacks and supplies for the week. Please take a look at the list of items needed, sign up for something, and then bring it to the church on or before Wednesday, July 24. Please be aware of the type of item you are signing up for and when it would be appropriate to bring to church. (Please don't bring "fresh" items until right before VBS!)
