Grandparent Milestone
Sunday, February 25 at 9:40am

This one’s just for grandparents! If you are a grandparent, you’re invited to a milestone of community and conversation. A forum-workshop will be at 9:40am in the Library/Fireside room. (Bring a picture of your grandparents, if you have one.) Grandparents will also be recognized in worship at each of the 8:30 or 10:30am services, so attend either! Thank you for passing on the faith in your vocation as a grandparent.

BREWED THEOLOGY
Tuesday, February 27

Brewed Theology is next Tuesday, 2/27, at 7pm at the Long Branch in downtown Farmington. The topic is "Decoding Denominations: The (dis?)Unified Body of Christ." We'll spend a little time talking about the differences between denominations, but also wonder if the diversity of churches in the Body of Christ is a blessing, or challenging (or both!). Weather you're a lifelong denominational expert, or brand new to this Christianity thing, you're invited and welcome!

FLY BOWLING NIGHT & FUNDRAISER
Friday, March 8

The upcoming FLY (Farmington Lutheran Youth) Night was originally going to be sledding, but Mother Nature had other plans this winter. Instead, FLY is going to join in supporting the youth attending the ELCA Youth Gathering this summer at their Bowling Fundraiser event. Parents and Youth in PreCon and Confirmation will learn more from Pastor Ben later this week.
Not Farmington Lutheran Youth? You’re still invited of course! Enjoy an hour of bowling and shoe rental and give back to our FLC youth program at the same time! This fundraiser will help offset the cost of travel to the ELCA Youth Gathering in New Orleans this summer. Everyone is invited and you can bowl from 5:00-6:00 or 6:30-7:30. The cost is $12 per bowler. RSVP on the Farmington Lanes website using the link below, and come and join the fun with us!

Community Communion WorKshop
March 17 at 11:30am

Are you- or is someone you know- interested in beginning to receive Holy Communion? Make plans to attend the Community Communion Workshop on Sunday, March 17th, at 11:30 am at Farmington Lutheran. We'll have lunch together, learn more about the history and meaning behind the practice of communion and get ready to receive it for the first time. All ages are welcome! If you have questions about whether you are or someone you know is ready for communion, please ask any of the pastors. To ensure we have enough food and supplies, please register in advance. You can find that sign up HERE.

SUMMER REGISTRATIONS ARE OPEN!

VBS, KIC ROCKS! and Camp Wapo registrations are all open! Spaces are limited so be sure to get your spot reserved today. We’re also in need of volunteers to make all our camps a success. This year we have a separate sign up for volunteers, and flexible days are an option. Questions? Contact Dawn@farmingtonlutheran.com

NEW BANNERS AT FLC

The banners that decorate our gathering space bear some colors and symbols of the liturgical calendar: Green, for “ordinary time,” and Jesus’ call and teachings. The fish reminds us of Jesus’ call to discipleship. Blue, for Advent. The star reminds us of the nativity, and the magi seeking the newborn Christ child.
Purple, for Lent. The cross ends Jesus’ Lenten journey, but is where God opens the way to eternal life.
Red, for Pentecost, and Reformation. The dove symbolizes the Holy Spirit, who is always reforming and renewing her church.
Banners were provided by Lois Luecke, in memory of her brother, Dr. James (Jim) C. Schwanebeck, and Farmington Lutheran Memorial funds.
