PRECON: In years past, Confirmation has spanned 6th-8th grades. But Pastors, Staff, and Children’s Team agreed that the transition from Sunday/Wednesday School to Confirmation was a big shift – in addition to so many big changes happening at the same time in students’ academic and extra-curricular lives. So! We’ve designed a year of Christian faith formation specifically for 6th Graders to recognize, soften, and bridge these transitions.
PreCon meets Wednesdays, consisting of after-school gatherings and lessons, family suppers at FLC, and monthly Kids in Christ (KiC) events. In addition, each month will feature a large-group service or fellowship activity for all youth, including meal packing, Trunk-Or-Treating, a Buck Hill outing, meal serving, and more
Age Range: 6th Grade
Days/Times: Wednesdays 4:00 - 5:15pm, meets 5:30 - 6:30pm once a month for Suppers on the Second with parents/guardians

CONFIRMATION: Confirmation prepares students to profess and claim for themselves faith and promises made at their baptism (probably, but not always, by parents and sponsors). This “confirming” or “affirming” of baptism and faith is done at the service of Affirmation of Baptism. Confirmation follows a three-year cycle based on promises “to teach the Lord’s Prayer, the Creed, and the Ten Commandments.” (ELW, p.228)
Age Range: 7th through 8th Grade
Days/Times: Wednesdays 6:30 - 8:00pm

AFFIRMATION OF BAPTISM: All 9th Grade Students who have completed the requirements to be Confirmed must register for the Affirmation of Baptism service on October 29, 2023. Requirements that must be met include regular attendance, worship notes / God sightings (or equivalent), and a Statement of Faith / Faith Project. Reminder- 9th Graders are expected to attend Wednesdays starting 9/20 to prepare (stole & faith statement/project prep) for Confirmation Sunday.

Age Range: 9th Grade Students

On Sunday, July 30th, starting at 11am, we're having "S'More Summer Fun!" We'll gather outside for picnic lunch, campfire, s'mores, lawn games, and fellowship. Fishers of Men is providing grill-fare for a free-will donation. Also! Warm up your bean-bag tossing muscles, because we're holding a bean-bag tournament! A $30 entry covers a team of two's tournament and lunch cost, with a chance at bragging rights and Chill gift cards for the winners. Tourney starts at 12-noon. Proceeds from picnic lunch and tournament will go to youth ministry at Farmington Lutheran. Register using the link below, or contact the church office.

OPEN YOUR HEART TO THE HUNGRY AND HOMES SUMMER CHALLENGE
