“OUR FAITH STORIES”
Wednesday, October 31, 6:30 - 8:00pm
Confirmation is on for 6:30pm with "Our Faith Stories", but all of FLC is invited to attend. A number of FLC members are sharing a Faith Project or Faith Statement, just like our 9th Graders do for their Night of Sharing (this year, on April 30). The evening will look like this:
6:30 - Faith Projects (Gathering Space). It's "open house" style, so the start time is a little flexible.
7:00 - Faith Statements (Sanctuary)
7:30 - Small Group conversation

SONSHINE SINGERS (children’s choir)
Wednesdays, 4:45-5:30pm
FLC's SonShine Singers (Children's Choir) is back. Open to grades 1 through 5, and led by Sara Woody and Stacey Bannick. Rehearsals will take place Wednesday evenings from 4:45 to 5:30 PM in the sanctuary. The group plans to sing in worship regularly. Questions? Email Karissa@farmingtonlutheran.com.. ALL SAINTS SUNDAY
Sunday, November 3 at Both Services
During communion on All Saints Weekend, worshippers will be welcome to light a candle in remembrance of the saints in their life. Like last year, we are also encouraging people to bring in pictures of saints in their lives who now rest in Jesus’ arms. We’ll place the pictures on tables in the sanctuary, as a reminder that in Christ we remain connected to all the saints:  past, present, and future.  You may bring pictures into the church building anytime on or after October 20, and place them on the tables in the Sunshine Room.

HARVEST MARKET
Saturday, November 2, 9:00-2:30pm

ELECTION VIGIL
Monday, November 4
Sanctuary opens at 5:00pm, Service begins at 6:00pm
One of the gifts our country is the passing of governing powers through democratic elections. Though typically peaceful, election time can still be anxious. On Monday, November 4th (the eve of election day) FLC is hosting an "election vigil" to offer space for peace and prayer. The sanctuary will be open at 5pm, with quiet music and candles to light, with a short "Healing of the Nations" service at 6pm. You're invited to come and pray - not just for candidates or parties, but that God's will would be done, and that all Americans would "love thy neighbor" in the coming days

CHURCH OFFICE CLOSED ON ELECTION DAY
Tuesday, November 5
FLC will be open for voting, but the church office will be closed. Staff will be available through email.

HATS, MITTENS, SOCKS, AND COAT DRIVE
Collecting now through November 20
FLC is now collecting new or gently-used hats, mittens, socks, and coats to be distributed to our local schools. Containers are in the gathering area, drop off Sundays or during church office hours. 

TOYS FOR TOWN
Collecting now through early December
Farmington Lutheran is a drop off site for Toys for Town. A table and collection bin are located in the Gathering Area, feel free to drop off any time during church office hours or Sunday mornings.

FARMINGTON FOOD SHELF UPDATES
Demand continues to grow at the Farmington Food Shelf.  In the first nine months of 2024, we had 1,390 visits compared to 1,024 in 2023.  We have distributed nearly 133,000 lbs. of food through September.  Our weekly order of food from Second Harvest Heartland averages between 2500-3500 pounds and costs typically run $1,000 per week. Obviously, the buying power of monetary donations is tremendous.  FLC donations of perishable goods (400-500 lbs./month) continues to make an impressive impact on the quantity and variety of food we have available for our clients. Thank you for all that you do!

FOOD SHELF VOLUNTEER NEED: Shoppers
Starting January 1 we wish to add a few more shopping appointments to our client schedule to enable more access. Increased appointments mean we have an increase in need for regular shift workers to assist with shopping and restocking.  One person is needed on Mondays from 2-4 and one from 4-6, and one is needed on Thursdays from 12-2. The commitment we are looking for would be weekly but subs are available to fill in for vacation, appointment, etc. and you don’t need to find your own sub. Training is provided.
