Farmington Lutheran Church is located at 20600 Akin Road, Farmington, MN 55024.
We encourage you to wear clothes that are comfortable. Some people wear dress clothes, while many others dress very casually. But whether you wear a tuxedo or jeans, please know you are welcome here.
Farmington Lutheran Church does not specifically point out guests as a part of the service, but we do make an effort to greet our guests and encourage them to sign our worship register. Guests are also encouraged to stop at the Welcome Center in the Gathering Area for a “welcome package.”
Children are always welcome in worship at Farmington Lutheran Church; we want families to worship together. However, we recognize that at times, children may need extra space to move about, and our Family Worship Room is available where you can see and hear the service. Access is next to the Usher’s Station. We also have Children’s Activity Bags available at the Usher’s Station. On Sunday, the Children’s Nursery for ages 5 and under is available and located down the Education Hall on the left side.
Farmington Lutheran Church offers a mix of traditional hymns and contemporary music during our worship services. A typical service includes: Welcome & Announcements, Children's Message, Call & Response, Prayers, Scripture Readings, Sermon, Offering, Communion, and music woven throughout.
Feel free to listen to a recent sermon!
Farmington Lutheran Church does not require anyone to give a monetary offering. An offering basket is passed after the sermon, at which time you may give as Christ motivates you. All offerings are deeply appreciated as they are used to further Christ's message to others.
Anyone who is baptized and believes that Christ is truly present with and for us may come. Denominational differences disappear at the Lord's Table. Whether Catholic, Lutheran, Presbyterian, Episcopalian, or no denomination in particular, the one bread and one cup we share reminds us that our unity is found in the mercy of Jesus Christ. We are united in our need for forgiveness and in the grace given to us through this meal.
